At the foot of Mt. Taylor whose picturesque beauty
rises to a height of 11,369 feet – lies the town of
Grants. Named for the Grant Brothers who built
this section of the Santa Fe Railway – it is today a
trading center for a large agricultural and ranching
country. Navajos in their colorful costumes may be
seen regularly on the streets. These are the workers
of the carrot fields in which industry Grants
ranks among the first in the entire U.S.A.
The famous Inscription Rock can be easily reached
is an interesting drive of approximately 40 miles.
