lion was killed by a hunting party of Masai natives.
With only spears as weapons and with shields as their
sole protection, these fearless hunters attack the lion
in his jungle lair. This particular specimen was al-
most instantly killed with one spear throw, the weapon
entering the chest and going clear through the body.
The struggle is not always ended thus easily, the lion
sometimes turning the tables and killing several of
the natives.
