New Kensington is located 18 miles north-
east of Pittsburgh, along the scenic Allegheny
River Advantages which have made New
Kensington one of the outstanding cities of
Western Pennsylvania were recognized by the
Allegewi Indians-hence the name Allegheny
--who inhabited this area centuries before the
coming of the white man. Parnassus, a part
of New Kensington, is the oldest portion of the
city proper. The manufacture of aluminum
