"L" for LEYENDECKER: The semaphore signal displayed by the Boy
Scout on the front of this postcard is "L", also being the first-letter of the
artist's last name, J.C. Leyendecker, who created exceptional Boy
Scout Art during Scouting's formative years in America. This illustration
was used on Boy Scouts of America Membership Certificate Cards
during the early 1900's. This was reproduced from a 1929 membership
card, issu-ed to Scout Elmer Flubacker.
