THE OLD NURSE HOUSE, DANVERS,
MASS. The name of the venerable Rebecca Nurse will
ever be associated most strongly with the witchcraft delusion
of 1692. Here lived that truly Christian martyr and here she
was arrested for witchcraft on March 24th. She went to her
ignoble death on Gallows Hill July 19th of that year. The
house is still standing amid the broad acres she loved so well.
