Jersey Wine Cup and Christening Bowl dated 1710.
Huguenots, French protestants fleeing from Catho-
lic Persecution in France, sought refuge in Jersey
among other places. Many local silversmiths of the
18th and early 19th centuries were of Huguenot
origin.
