Declared the world's first free airport in 1947, Shannon
is famous among air travellers for its Duty Free Shop
and Restaurant, open round-the-clock. An Industrial
and Warehousing Estate has been established on the
perimiter of the Airport where goods can be manu-
factured or stored for distribution by air to world markets.
Manufacturers and exporters using Shannon pay no
import duties or bonding charges, and are exempt from
profits tax until 1983.
