This battle cruiser, which was presented to the British Navy by the people of New Zealand, is 555 ft. long, 80 ft. wide, 26 1/2 ft. draught, 18,800 tons, 44,000 SHP. (turbine); speed, 25 knots; complement, 789. Built at Glasgow; commissioned, 1912; armament, 24 guns, 4 in and over, 10 smaller guns, and 2 torpedo tubes.
