SECOND OLD EST BUILDING IN TAOS, NEW MEXICO
Built over 175 years ago it belonged to the daughter of
the first governor of New Mexico. Years ago Teresina
Bent Scheurich, sister-in-law of Kit Carson, fortified
the existing walls against the Indians. Her husband, a
freighter, drove oxen to St. Louis for provisions. The
inside dining room is the original family meat and
storage room.
