LONG ISLAND STATE PARK COMMISSION
fones Beach State Park is one of the State
Parks under the jurisdiction of the Long
Island State Park Commission. It is located
on the South Shore of Long Island, thirty-
three miles from New York. The major at-
tractions are surf, pool, still water bathing,
boardwalk, children's playgrounds, shuffle -
board, archery, pitch-putt golf and other
outdoor games. The Wantagh and Meadow-
brook Causeways lead directly to Jones Beach
from the Southern State Parkway, Merric
Road and Sunrise Highway. Jones Beach is
easily reached by automobile, train or bus.
