The Union Station was built by the U. S. Govern-
ment, the Pennsylvania R.R. and the Baltimore &
Ohio R.R. The cost of the land, building and ter-
minal improvements exceeded $18,000,000. and the
structure is the finest railway station in the world.
The building is of white granite, is 760 feet long,
and 343 feet wide.
