When Marilyn Monroe appeared in this revealing
gold lamé gown to receive her Fastest Rising Star
award in 1953, she caused a sensation in Hollywood.
Without saying a word, she let the star-studded audi-
ence know there was a new Venus in Hollywood, her
name was Marilyn, and she was every inch a star.
As ith our sibling (Jackie) I also collect collector
plates, of railvoading and sport figures (John Elway
Number Seven of the Denver Broncos), and also of many
historical figures, John Wayne, Marilyn of course, and
of The Princess (Diana). I have more than two hundred
plates not including the many removed from our sibling
I also have three plates of The Chairman of the Board,
old Blue Eyes (about $50.00 each) I will eventually
display them hopefully on wallmounted shelving.
