METALS PARK, OHIO
World headquarters of the American Society for Metals,
a non-profit educational society serving the metal in-
dustry. 23 miles east of Cleveland on Route 87, this
semicircular building is surmounted by the largest
geodesic dome of its type in the world. Stainless steel
provides a sunshade with 4000 louvers. Mineral garden
with metallic ores features a jet fountain. Activities of
ASM include technical journals, books, conferences,
exhibits, courses, electronic information searching, schol-
arships, awards and career encouragement. Visitors
welcome.
