Latest Washington interlocking
yarder in Alaska operation
J & H Logging Co., Petersburg, Alaska, has taken delivery of this
new Model 158 Washington interlocking yarder. Tank tracks are
self-propelled from the yarder's 336-hp GM 8V-71 diesel. Yarder
has extra wide enclosed cab; 900-gallon fuel tank; extended mount
for strawline fairlead, and extra strawline drum.
Interlocking design of Models 158 and 208 Washington yarders
adds to effective horsepower, conserves fuel, and minimizes brake
wear. In combination with mobile Washington steel spars and
Trakloaders, they are "pace-setters" for efficient logging.
