My dad was at the base in 1964 before his trip to NAM. He met my mom here and she had her first Dr. Pepper. Wasn’t there a burger place? Dad wonders what all is left. I told him we would take him before he gets too sick. It would have been 52 years together, but mom has passed. She loved Abilene. Not like Jersey at all. It was always a special place for both of them and his red GTO.
