Gatun Spillway discharging flood-water at
the rate of 15,000 cubic feet per second. This
overflow will be used to generate electric power.
The spillway is about 1,200 feet long and 300 feet
wide, is located in the center of the Gatun Dam
and contains about 225,000 cubic yards of con-
crete.
