Aerial view of Marines' Camp Hansen, newest of
the modern permanent camps of the Third Marine
Division located in the central region of Okinawa.
It houses the Ninth Marine Regiment, five
separate battalions, Division Schools and the
Rifle Range Detachment. The camp is named
after Marine Private Dale Merlin Hansen who was
awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for
heroism in the battle for Okinawa.
