The southernmost hill in the formation known as the Smoky
Hill Buttes, Coronado Heights is so named because of
reports that Coronado climbed the hill during his exploration
of Kansas in 1541. Atop Coronado Heights, located near
Lindsborg, are picnic grounds and a castle built by the WPA.
