Lawry's salutes California's Hispanic heritage with
"Fiesta California," its colorful entry in the 1990
Tournament of Roses Parade. This giant, whimsical
burro, adorned with sculptured California poppies,
wiggles his ears to the festive music of a mariachi band
while dancers twirl alongside. Thirty-five thousand roses,
carnations, gerber daisies and marigolds blanket his 75-
foot, multi-colored serape. Lawry's selected the float
theme to honor the many contributions the Hispanic
community has made to California and the United
States.
