ECHO LAKE AND NEW PROFILE HOUSE.
FRANCONIA NOTCH, N. H.: No one spot in the
whole White Mountain region excels in beauty, grandeur and
tourist interest the idyllic glen which holds the new Profile
House. Since the year 1852 there has been a hotel of excellence
on this site, which was entirely rebuilt and remodelled in 1906.
The Eagle Cliffs rise precipitously before the house to a height
of 1472 feet above the road. Close by is the dainty Echo
Lake, and a short distance from the house is obtained a grand
view of that cardinal wonder of the Whithe Mountains, The
Profile, from which the hotel receives its name.
