This model shows the huge 2,200,000 Horsepower St. Lawrence Power Project and a section of the international Seaway in the Power Project area, as they will appear when completed. In the centre is the powerhouse being built jointly by Ontario Hydro and the Power Authority of the State of New York. Bisecting the nternational boundary line, it will span the St. Lawrence River between the Canadian mainland, just west of Cornwell, Ontario and the eastern end of Barnharrt Island. Extending out from eitehr side of the powerhouse are the dykes which will contain the headpond or water storage area. The long Sault dam (upper centre) will combine with the power plant itself to obtain and control this headpond in the amount required to operate the generators.
