HE original New State House was built on land
purchased from the family of John Hancock from
designs executed by Bullfinch. Its dome, which was
originally copper, was made by Paul Revere. It was
started in 1795 and completed in 1797. The picture
above is a miniature of one of the Murals by Photog-
raphy which decorate Filene's Restaurant in Boston.
