The Mills at night, from Brook side. This view shows one of the many groups of mills located in Easthampton. This group comprises the Nashawannuck Manufacturing Co.'s office, established 1850; United Button Co., 1847; Glendale Elastic Fabrics Co., 1863; and the Nashawannuck Manufacturing Co.'s lower mill. they manufacture suspenders, buttcus and elastic webbing, and employ about 2,000 hands. When these mills are lighted throughout for the night work of the winter months, they present a striking scene. |
