HOTEL WASHINGTON, the largest in Berkeley Springs,
W. Va., fully equipped with elevator service. Located on the
square at the main entrance to the famous Health Mineral Springs.
Washington visited here in 1748. Lord Fairfax gave the famous
Springs to the public. Berkeley Springs was established as a town
in 1776. Virginia treated Her sick soldiers here. Dr. C. W.
Chancellor called it a "health-giving luxury fit for the Gods".
Generals Washington, Buchanan, Gates and many others bought
lots here. (Berkeley Springs) is an historical place.
