THE LIGHTHOUSE. The Absecon Lighthouse was
built in 1854 and cost $52,000. It is 167 feet high and 598,634 6
bricks were required to complete it. The light can be seen
19 miles out to sea. The Lighthouse is open to visitors every
morning (except Sunday) from 10 to 12 o'clock. The Weather
Bureau and the United States Life Saving Station are located
