THE VATICAN PAVILION
At The World's Fair, N.Y.C.
The priceless marble sculpture – the "Pieta'' of
MICHELANGELO is enshrined behind a bullet proof
glass curtain in the Vatican Pavilion and was
brought to the Fair directly from the Basilica of
St. Peter's in Rome. A chapel with a capacity of
300 persons contains a marble sculpture of 'The
Good Shepherd," a 4th Century statue found in
the catacombs of Rome.
