Additional Details:
The Osprey, a forty-eight foot steamboat typical of the luxury yachts of the '90s. Originally C.W. Durant, Jr.,'s "Stella," it appeared in the Adirondacks on Raquette Lake in 1882 and was later owned and renamed the "Osprey" by J. Harvey Ladew. The "Skeeter," on the far side of the boat dock, was owned by R.J. Collier in 1906 and was then the fastest boat in the area with a speed of twenty-five miles an hour. On this side of the dock is the "Whileaway" a gasoline-powered family boat which was owned by Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney and brought to Forked Lake about 1916
