Pike County Courthouse, octagonal in shape, is a
unique landmark on the square in Pittsfield, III. Built
of Berea stone in 1893-94, the building was designed
by Henry Elliott of Chicago and cost, at that time,
$45,000. It is listed by the Illinois Arts Council as one
of Illinois' 10 most outstanding examples of courthouse
architecture.
