TRAPPIST MONASTERY OF
OUR LADY OF NEW MELLERAY
is located twelve miles southwest of Dubuque on
Highway 151. Founded in 1849 with seven monks
it is now home to about 120 monks. They earn
their livelihood from the 3,000 acres of land which
Othey farm.
The road to the Monastry is open to all visitors.
Religious articles and monastery Souvenirs made
by the monks are available.
