Pitcairn Island's government school

Pitcairn Island's government school, with educa- tion officer's residence, was built in 1948-49. The school teacher with his family comes from New Zealand on a two-year term. Education is com- pulsory from ages from ages 5 to 15, and children are taught to high school level.
