CONNECTICUT LAKES
New Hampshire
The Connecticut Lakes Region of northern New Hampshire is an
area of wilderness made up of mountains, lakes, streams and bogs
and lying mostly within the township of Pittsburg. It contains three
covered bridges, a large herd of moose, and Back Lake, Lake
Francis and the First, Second and Third Connecticut Lakes form
the headwaters for the Connecticut River. Winter brings extreme
cold and snow depths of 4 ft. on the level are not unusual.
