Engine: Allison, V-1710 of 1,325 hp. Top Speed: 408 mph, Range: 450 miles Ceiling: 43,000 ft. Span: 38 ft. 4 in. Length: 32 ft, 8 in. Height: 12 ft, 7 in. This P-63 exhibited of AF Museum, W-PAFB, Ohio, closely resembles P-39 from which it was developed. Some AAF P-63's were used to train fighter pilots, and others were flown as armored target aircraft with lights which lit when plane was struck by frangible bullets fired by aerial gunner trainess.|
