#733 STREET SCENE Mesilla, New Mexico La Posta was an active station on the old Butterfield stage route. This view is looking toward the Plaza where the Gadsden Pur- chase was signed. Billy The Kid was tried and sentenced to hang at the old courthouse and held at the old Mesilla Jail. There are many places of interest to see; Museums, Gift Shops, Curio Shops, Historic Sites.
