The Hoopoe visits Britain in the spring and Autumn. It occasionally builds in this county. But not often. Its nest is made in a hole, generally in a tree, and the mother and young are fed by the male. The eggs are four to seven in number, and when fresh are pale greenish blue, but fade into a dull olive or yellowish brown.
