A statue of Queen Victoria, after whom the city was named. It was designed by Albert Bruce-Joy, R. H. A., F. R. G. S., at the request of the Provincial Government, the stone aid by His Royal Highness the present Prince of Wales, on September 24th, 1919, and unveiled on April 19th, 1921, by the Duke of Devonshire, then Governor-General of Canada.
