| Roughly in the middle of the State, is the birthplace and home of Little League Baseball. The first Little League was formed in 1939 and consisted entirely of local teams. Today, Little League has grown to be international in scope, but its headquarters remain at Williamsport, and it is here that the Little League World Series is played each August. |
