Lumber is one of Washington's leading in-
dustries. Men are shown cutting down a
giant of the forest, a Douglas Fir. Working
on "Spring Boards," they are starting a back
cut after finishing an under-cut. Wedges are
used to keep saw from binding and also to
throw the tree.
