| Virginia & Truckee Locomotive No. 13 Empire was delivered in February 1873 to provide additional motive power for the growing Nevada shortline. Converted from wood to oil-burning in 1910, it was renumbered to 15 when crews considered 13 unlucky. The locomotive was restored in 1979-80 for exhibit at the California State Railroad Museum. |
