Additional Details:
The Ponce is the pioneer of the palace hotels of St. Augustine. These palaces are built of coquina, a curious coral conglomerate, Easily Quarried but becoming of extreme hardness on long exposure to the air. In their architecture, as well as their names, the group preserves the eclat of the old Spanish occupancy.
