| Mid-way along the Apache Trail is Theodore Roosevelt Dam, biggest of its type in the world. Constructed entirely of blocks hewn from cliffs of the Salt River Valley, the great barrier contains Roosevelt Lake, largest body of water within Arizona. Completed in 1911, the dam and lake were prototypes of subsequent Western reclamation projects. |
