Prairie du Chien Museum at Fort Crawford Military Hospital

| Fort Crawford was a major military installation at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin from 1829 until 1856. Today all that remains is the Military Hospital. Restored in the 1930s, it was here that Dr. William Beaumont conducted many of his experiments on the human digestive system with Alexis St. Martin. |
