Grand Coulee Dam Large Letter
Additional Details:
| One of the most spectacular sights in North America is to be seen at Grand Coulee Dam, where the overflow from the now-full Columbia River reservoir, impounded by the 10½ million cubic yard concrete structure, plunges over the giant spillway. Nearly 2,000,000 gallons of water fall over the man-made precipice with a tremendous roar every second. Power is being developed in a large power-house flanking the cataract, in which three 108,000 kilo-watt hydro-electric generators, largest ever constructed, have been assembled. |
