#24755 Mineral King Valley, Sequoia National Park The face of this pristine valley could have been much different. The Forest Service once granted the Walt Disney Company a thirty-year permit to develop a major ski resort in the Mineral King Basin. To protect the area, the Sierra Club presented an unsuccessful legal suit, but in 1978, Congress ended the battle by adding Mineral King to Sequoia National Park.
