Additional Details:
Oldest lighthouse operating in the United States, located near the northern end of the Sandy Hook Peninsula. Constructed between 1763 and 1764, it was first lighted on June 11, 1764. Maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard, the keeper's house and property are part of the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreational Area.
