| The Twin Lights, located on Thacher's Island, just off the coast of Rockport and Gloucester. Named after Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Thacher, when in 1635, they were shipwrecked on the island. The first two light towers were built in 1771 and later replaced by the present 124-foot granite towers in 1861. |
