Additional Details:
The Cyclorama of the Battle of Atlanta, in Grant Park, was painted in 1885-1886 from descriptions by veterans who were there, and is one of the most accurate war paintings in existence. This scene shows fighting around the Troup Hurt House, where Confederates broke through Federal lines. The railroad runs west to Atlanta's skyline on the horizon. The 20,000-square-foot canvas is valued at more than $1,000,000.
