| It was from where the Minuteman Statue stands by the Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts, that the 'shot heard round the world' was fired. The provincials advanced on the Bridge and were fired upon by the British, their third firing killing Captain Isaac Davis and Abner Hosmer of Acton. Major Buttrick turned and cried '' Fire, fellow soldiers! For God's sake, Fire!'' and the fight was on. |
