Additional Details:
Okefenokee Swamp Park has been developed by the Okefenokee Association, Inc., which was organized as a non-profit civic association by the Waycross and Ware County Chamber of Commerce. The Great Swamp is the largest 'preserved' fresh water swamp in the eastern United States—its area is approximately 400,000 acres. Located in southeast Georgia, just above the Florida line, in Ware, Charlton and Clinch counties—the famous Suwannee River rises in Okefenokee. Boardwalks penetrating deep into the cypress wonderland, and 75-foot observation tower overlooking the swamp—land and original Seminole Trail.
