| This impressive church stands on a slight elevation overlooking modern Santa Barbara and the blue Pacific. Unquestionably the Mission is one of the most imposing and best preserved of any in this country. A notable fact is, that since its founding in December 1786, it has been used continuously for religious observances, and never once has the light above its altar gone out. The view from the Corridor, shows the Old Fountain in its Plaza and part of the old laundry. |
