| Here is an aerial view of ROCKEFELLER CENTER, taken from the southwest, showing the extent to which the new business development dominates the skyline in the heart of New York City. It gives an impressive view of the towering RCA Building, which rises to a height of 833 feet and occupies more than half of the central block, between 49th and 50th Streets. To the left is the 31 story RKO Building and the Radio City Music Hall. In the lower center of the picture may be seen the white roof of the RKO Roxy Theater. The British Empire Building and La Maison Francaise, two International structures fronting on Fifth Avenue, may be seen at right of the RCA Building (just beneath St. Patrick's Cathedral in the picture). The Italian Building will be situated in the block just north of these. |
